About the West Midlands Grammar Schools exam
What is the West Midlands 11+?
The West Midlands 11+ is an exam used by 19 grammar schools in the West Midlands. Schools use it to select children working in the top ability range in their year group.
What subjects will my child be tested on?
Children take two papers. These are divided into smaller timed sections that assess English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
What is the pass mark?
The West Midlands Grammar Schools pass mark is calculated after the test. Children's scores are standardised and ranked in order.
