11 plus key dates

There are six grammar schools and one partially-selective school in Berkshire. They’re split across **Reading** and **Slough**.

#### Reading

#### Slough

Langley Grammar School, Herschel Grammar School, St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School and Upton Court Grammar School. [Colyton Grammar School](https://atomlearning.com/blog/colyton-grammar-school-11-plus) is the only grammar school in East Devon.

The three grammar schools in Plymouth are Devonport High School for Boys (DHSB), Devonport High School for Girls (DHSG) and Plymouth High School for Girls (PHSG). The girls' school share the same exam and key dates.

- **Monday 22nd April 2024:** main 11+ registration opens for all Plymouth grammar schools
- **Wednesday 22nd May 2024:** practice session registration closes for DHSG and PHSG

- **Tuesday 16th July 2024:** parents receive results from practice exam
- **Saturday 31st August 2024:** main 11+ registration closes for all Plymouth grammar schools

#### Torquay

The three grammar schools in Torquay are Churston Ferrers Grammar School (CFGS), Torquay Boys’ Grammar School (TBGS) and Torquay Girls’ Grammar School (TGGS). These schools are known as the Torbay Grammar Schools and have the same 11+ exam and key dates. 

- **March 2024:** Torbay Grammar Schools 11+ registration opens
- **Wednesday 17th July 2024:** 11+ registration deadline (preferable) for the Torbay Grammar Schools
- **Thursday 5th September 2024:** 11+ registration deadline (final) for the Torbay Grammar Schools

There are four grammar schools in Dorset: Bournemouth School, Bournemouth School for Girls, Parkstone Grammar School, and Poole Grammar School. The four schools have combined to form ‘the Consortium’, with one set of selection tests.

All of these schools **except** Chelmsford County High School for Girls are members of the [Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex (CSSE)](https://atomlearning.com/blog/csse-11-plus). [Chelmsford County High School for Girls](https://atomlearning.com/blog/chelmsford-county-high-school-11-plus) (CCHS) is not a member of the CSSE – it has its own testing process.

Altrincham Boys, Altrincham Girls, Sale Grammar, Stretford Grammar and Urmston Grammar are members of the [Trafford Grammar Schools Consortium](https://atomlearning.com/blog/trafford-11-plus). They all use the same 11 plus exam and have the same key dates.

[Saint Ambrose College](https://atomlearning.com/blog/saint-ambrose-college-11-plus) and [Loreto Grammar School](https://atomlearning.com/blog/loreto-grammar-school-11-plus) are independent from this group. They have their own exams and testing processes.

There are no fully-selective (grammar) schools in Hertfordshire. However, there are many partially-selective schools. 

Seven schools are members of the [South West Herts Schools Consortium](https://atomlearning.com/blog/south-west-hertfordshire-11-plus), and children can take the Secondary Transfer Test to apply for a selective place. These schools are Parmiter’s School (academic and music places), Queens’ School (academic, music and sports places), Rickmansworth School (academic and music places), St Clement Danes School (academic and music places), Watford Grammar School for Boys (academic and music places), Watford Grammar School for Girls (academic and music places), and Croxley Danes School (music places only).

[Dame Alice Owen’s School](https://atomlearning.com/blog/dame-alice-owens-school-11-plus) is also a partially-selective school with academic and music places available. This school is not a member of the South West Herts Schools Consortium.

15 of these schools are members of the [Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools (LCGS)](https://atomlearning.com/blog/lincolnshire-11-plus). Children applying to these schools will take the same 11+ exam on the same dates.

[Caistor Grammar School](https://atomlearning.com/blog/caistor-grammar-school-11-plus) is not a member of the Lincolnshire Consortium. It has its own 11+ process.

There are two grammar schools in Kingston upon Thames: [Tiffin School](https://atomlearning.com/blog/tiffin-school-11-plus) and [The Tiffin Girls’ School](https://atomlearning.com/blog/tiffin-girls-school-11-plus). Both schools operate a two-stage testing process. Children who perform well in the stage one test are shortlisted for stage two.

There are two grammar schools in Redbridge: Ilford County High School and Woodford County High School. They have the same exam and key dates.

There are five grammar schools in Sutton and one partially-selective school. These schools are Nonsuch High School, Sutton Grammar School, Wallington County Grammar School, Wallington High School, and Wilson’s School. Greenshaw High School is partially-selective. 

Children applying to the five grammar schools take the [Sutton Selective Eligibility Test (SET)](https://atomlearning.com/blog/sutton-11-plus), and shortlisted children are invited back to take a second-stage test. Children applying to Greenshaw High School only take the Sutton SET.

- **Friday 2nd August 2024:** Sutton Selective Eligibility Test registration closes

There are no grammar schools in Wandsworth, but there are five partially-selective schools. These schools are Ashcroft Technology Academy, Burntwood School, Chestnut Grove Academy, Ernest Bevin Academy, and Graveney School. 

Children applying to these schools can choose to apply for a selective place. This is assessed through an 11 plus exam called the [Wandsworth Test](https://atomlearning.com/blog/wandsworth-test), or the Wandsworth Year 6 Test. 

- **Monday 20th May 2024:** Wandsworth Year 6 Test registration opens

There are 32 grammar schools in Kent.
