The ISEB Common Pre-Test is an online exam that’s used by selective independent schools as part of their admissions process.
It’s an adaptive exam, meaning the questions become more difficult depending on how your child is performing. The ISEB is different from other exam providers, so it’s important to take the time to familiarise your child with the exam format.
It tests English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. The English and maths sections cover the Key Stage 2 curriculum up to the end of Year 5. The reasoning sections are not covered on the national curriculum.
Find out more about the format of the test and what’s included in our ISEB guide for parents.
