Admissions to Woodford County High School

Woodford County High School is part of the Pan London Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme. The school uses an 11 plus test format and selects pupils from the 180 top scorers for admission.

It is advised by the London Borough of Redbridge that children who live outside the Local Authority of Redbridge should not apply to sit the test, as there have not been any children from outside the area admitted before. Applicants living closest to the schools are given priority.

How and when to apply to Woodford County High

To apply to the school, you'll need to complete an online application form available on the Redbridge Borough website. The deadline to register your child to sit the 11 plus for Redbridge grammar schools is the end of June.

A Common Application Form from your Local Authority (LA) must also be completed. The date for this will be set by the LA, but it is usually the October of Year 6.

When is the Woodford County High School 11 plus exam taken?

After applying for a place at the school, applicants will sit the borough’s 11 plus test on Saturday 17th September 2022.

When do 11 plus results come out?

You will find out your child's 11 plus results before completing the Common Application Form from your LA in October of Year 6. For children who have achieved the pass mark of 104, parents can list their chosen grammar schools in order of preference on the application. For children who do not achieve the pass mark, parents can produce an order of preference from non-selective schools, or select grammar schools for the appeal process in March.

In March, you will be informed whether your child has been offered a place at their first-choice school, or given information regarding the appeals process.
