Your child's Year 6 SATs scores will be passed on to their secondary school. Schools often use SATs scores to stream students into sets for English and maths. Children with higher SATs scores are more likely to be streamed into higher sets, where they'll learn more advanced content at a quicker pace.
Preparing for SATs is also a great way to gently introduce your child to exam routines. They'll take a variety of tests as they move up through secondary school. Building technique early and getting used to test questions will put them in good stead for later exams!
