The most effective way to prepare for the 11 plus is by starting early and breaking down the different sections of the test into smaller, manageable parts. Encourage your child to get familiar with the different exercises, celebrate their progress, and work with them to improve any weaker areas. It’s also a good idea to prepare your child for exam day as this gets closer, with online mock tests to help them practise time management.
Your child may encounter different questions on the 11 plus to the ones they’re used to from school, so it’s vital to introduce them to sample questions and familiarisation materials that use the same format as the Lincolnshire 11 plus. Some free 11 plus exercises are available online, but these won’t all be in the same style as the Lincolnshire 11 plus, so make sure you’re choosing ones that will give your child an accurate idea of what to expect.
King Edward VI Grammar School also sends practice papers to local primary schools (listed above) on 13th June, which are normally administered during the summer term.
We have over 90,000 teacher-written practice questions, video tutorials, live exam preparation courses and unlimited mock tests that mirror the format of the 11 plus at King Edward VI Grammar School (Louth), all designed to help your child feel prepared and confident on exam day.
