Formerly called Stratford-Upon-Avon Grammar School for Girls, what is now Stratford Girls’ Grammar School is a leading selective single-sex grammar school established in 1958. The school is consistently high-performing in league tables, frequently appearing among the top twenty entries, and has held the status of Specialist Language College since 2002.

Stratford Girls' Grammar School 11 plus admissions process

To apply for Year 7 admission, you will need to register for the 11 plus test by the 30th June deadline and name Stratford Girls' Grammar School on the relevant Common Application Form to your Local Authority. Late applications will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.

Warwickshire County Council's Admissions Service (Warwickshire Admissions) coordinates Stratford Girls' Grammar School’s Year 7 admissions policy on the school’s behalf. Whether a student is admitted to Stratford Girls' Grammar School depends on their performance in the 11 plus, and is subject to the catchment area outlined above.

Places are allocated in order of the following priorities:

  • Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC)

  • Children who are or have been looked after

  • Children in receipt of the Pupil Premium residing within the catchment area

  • Children residing within the inner priority circle who achieve the Automatic Qualifying Score (up to 70 places)

  • Children who live within the outer priority circle who achieve the Automatic Qualifying Score

  • All other children

Each section is likely to be multiple choice format, with a separate answer sheet to the question booklet. The question booklet is not marked, and any working out completed in this booklet will not be considered. Applicants will be given a question booklet with the test questions along with a separate answer sheet, which are marked electronically.
